The Young Ladies' Grand Institute (YLI) is an organization for Catholic women dedicated to the Christian principles of charity and love.
YLI was founded in San Francisco on September 5, 1887, by 3 young women to help a friend who was ill and without financial means.
YLI is the oldest Catholic women's organization in the United States. Our members range in age from 16 to 100+. We are located in the states of Washington, California, Oregon, and Hawaii and currently have 7,000 members. YLI has been affiliated with St. Joseph Churh since October 30, 1927.
What YLI Can Mean to YOU! - Being a YLI member provides many opportunities to develop leadership skills, build lasting friendships, and provide ways to offer services in your parish and in your local community.
